The Incarnation of the Word of Life 1 John 1:1-10

The Incarnation of the Word of Life 1 John 1:1-10

The purpose of the letter: to bring unbelievers into a relationship with God.

(1 John 1:1-2) John begins with the center of relationship: Jesus Christ.

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life; the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us.

(1 John 1:3) An invitation to relationship.

That which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.

(1 John 1:4) The result of relationship.

And these things we write to you that your joy may be full.

John’s message from God: dealing with sin and maintaining relationship.

(1 John 1:5) Sin and the nature of God.

This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.

(1 John 1:6)

God’s sinlessness and our relationship with Him.

If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.

John 14:1

Let not your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in me. Psalm 16:8

I know the Lord is always with me, I will not be shaken for He is right beside me.

Philippians 4:13

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

If you are going through mountains and valleys of life’s trials don’t let fear overwhelm you, never let fear overtaken your faith, God has not given you the spirit of fear but of faith and of courage to stay strong and to withstand all.

Be prayerful, obedient and alert.. Pray to God to let His peace overtake you.

Let your faith be bigger than your fear knowing that all is in God’s hand and that God is in control.
